Content with Courtney: 3 Tips for a Successful Sales Strategy

One of the most effective ways to tell your brand’s story nowadays is through content marketing. A popular marketing term, “content marketing” can cover an array of platforms, including white papers, infographics, case studies, e-books and much more, but no matter which avenues you choose, it’s a critical part of your long-term marketing strategy.
To help you along your journey, I’ve compiled three tips for developing a sustainable content marketing plan for 2020 and beyond:

1. Make sure you have a strategy.Content without a clear plan of action will fall flat every time. Before you start creating, sit down with your sales team and learn about customers’ pain points. Once you know what your audience is looking for, consider which marketing channels and platforms will best rely that message. Thinking a few steps ahead and taking all factors into consideration will yield the best results.

2. Keep content consistent and up to date.Once your strategy is in place, it’s important stick to a consistent publishing schedule to ensure your brand stays top of mind with the most accurate information. This is especially important now during the COVID-19 crisis, as distributors are turning to trusted suppliers to help keep their businesses running. Offering timely solutions –
like new markets your products can fit into or products that can solve their current problems – will go a long way building a strong business relationship.

3. Repurpose your content for various channels. No matter what your original piece ran as, single-use marketing is usually a missed opportunity. You spend time, money and creative resources developing your content, so you want to get the most bang for your buck by promoting it everywhere possible. A white paper, for example, can be repurposed into an interactive webinar, a video or even something as simple as a social media post. Maximizing touchpoints will allow your message to reach a wider audience.
