Don’t get left behind: Video is a MUST for Small Suppliers

Just a short time ago, larger businesses considered video as something that was “nice to have” while smaller businesses wished they had the time, budget and resources to create and share videos.  However; because of the rapid rise of technology and the importance of video in a modern marketing strategy, it’s become a necessity for suppliers of all sizes and budgets.


Suppliers already dabbling in product videos are reaping the rewards as they understand the importance of having product videos in ESP and sharing them on social. They already have a big advantage over their competitors.

  1. Increase conversion and sales. Zappos found that their sales increased from 6% to 30% when products included video demos. Stacksandstacks.com, a site for houseware products, tested videos on their product pages and found customers to be 144% more likely to add to their cart if they watched a product video.
  2. Encourage clicks and shares. Video content is one of the most shared mediums across social media and email marketing. Adding video to your marketing emails can boost click-through rates by more than 200%!   5. Eliminate doubt. People give money to Kickstarter campaigns without ever knowing if they will receive the product. Why? Because the video was compelling enough to turn them into a supporter. Seeing the story of a product or company helps to remove any reservations about purchasing.
  6. Reach younger generations. Millennials, gen Z and even gen alpha are the present and the future of purchasing power. From Snapchat to Instagram stories, these younger consumers are fully embracing digital marketing through video content. YouTube alone reaches more 18-49-year olds than any cable network in the U.S. and has over a billion users!
  7. Reduce complaints and reprints. If a distributor sees the product in action before they purchase, you can bet they will be less likely to be unsatisfied or ask for reprinted products. Making a customer happy means they’ll be more likely to reorder as well!
