​This week, we’re doing an in-depth dive into each of our products and services. 

With that in mind, I’d like to focus today’s post on how utilizing the power of print marketing catalogs can help you to drive customers online, build a trustworthy brand image and reach a highly targeted audience of interested distributors.
 
Unlike digital marketing, catalogs don’t provide concrete data that can directly prove ROI, so major retailers are rethinking how they value them. Instead of relying on print catalogs simply to sell products, large companies like Amazon, Anthropologie and Restoration Hardware are using them as vehicles for inspiration. They’re looking to these handy little tools to pique the consumer’s interest and drive them to their online platforms. Here’s why print catalogs are making a comeback:

  1. Catalogs drive customers online. Consider print catalogs as the first touchpoint in a customer relationship. They give prospects a small sample of your brand’s unique identity and products. The hope is that this initial introduction will entice catalog viewers to visit the website to learn more or place an order!
  2. Retailers have an honest expectation of catalogs. Instead of expecting a significant rise in sales from one print catalog, companies are recognizing that catalogs serve a different purpose – they’re a supplemental way to increase brand awareness, spark ideas and reach customers when they’re offline.
  3. Catalogs reach targeted audiences. Retailers are sending catalogs to specific audiences based on factors such as their geographic locations, their online behaviors (including the types of products they buy and the industries they’re in) and more. Using a print medium in this way allows marketers to guarantee a better ROI.
  4. They have a long shelf life. Printed catalogs have staying power because prospects are likely to hold onto them or pass them along to colleagues. They’re routinely referenced throughout the year!
