Why You Should Host a Webinar
by: Alejandra Borbolla Diaz
You probably see invites to webinars often, but did you know that you can host a webinar to help improve brand recognition and better establish your credibility in the promo products industry? Let’s take a look at all the ways hosting a webinar can benefit your supplier business.
Get an Engaged Audience
The people who attend a webinar took an action to do so. This means, they have some level of interest in the topic. You can look at these almost like warm leads, and it increases the likelihood that they’ll connect with what you have to say. When you are marketing through ads, the person on the other end isn’t necessarily opting to view your specific ad – but they are choosing to attend your webinar. That creates a very positive environment with an engaged audience and helps build relationships.
You will also have an attendee list to follow up with after the webinar. It’s a simple way to refill your pipeline with warm leads.
Educate Prospects & Customers
When you host a webinar, you can share facts and stories about your business and products with an interested audience. Distributors love to know about the latest greatest products, how to target specific markets and even specific ways to use branded merchandise so they can tell their customers and win the sale. They also often need help on how and when to use different decoration techniques to get the best final product.
The more you can help distributors close business, the more you’ll see it in your revenue. Plus, a webinar gives you a platform to tell a story about your business – and everyone loves a good story. It will help you build a bond with listeners and show them the person (or people) behind your company. After all, people like do business with people they know and like.
Establish Credibility & Be Viewed as a Reliable Resource
By sharing your expertise, you’re elevating your credibility in the industry. You’re showing that you know your stuff and can back it up. A distributor will be more comfortable ordering from a supplier if they know a person behind it is well versed in the business. By positioning yourself as a reliable resource, distributors are more likely to turn to you for product suggestions and advice.
Improve Existing Relationships
Of course new customers are fantastic, but repeat customers will keep your business going. Hosting a webinar allows you to connect with past customers and remind them why they ordered from you – you know the industry and your products inside and out! In addition to reorders, this can also lead to referrals or even online reviews.
Although you may turn to another person to help you host a webinar, webinars are cost efficient because YOU have the staff and YOU design the presentation. The cost you incur may come from any contracts you have with online meeting hosts like Zoom or GoToMeeting, or for marketing to promote the webinar (you may need to pay to send an email invite). Because the content is coming from you, this method is very inexpensive when compared to other forms of live marketing channels, like trade shows.
