Support Your Sales Team

Businesses are getting back to normal (somewhat) and are looking for more ways to drive sales to finish out the year strong. It’s likely your business halted some marketing for the last few months, so getting back on track might be a little challenging. Or maybe your business is busier than ever and you need a little extra something to make selling easier. Marketing was created to drive sales and to assist your sales team, especially in B2B. What’s one way you can be sure to give your sales team everything they need (and more)? Use video. 
​Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, I’m sure your business’s needs have shifted. So, let’s see how you can make successful, effective videos. The easiest way to make sure your sales team has everything they need is by directly asking them:
  • What are some commonly asked questions about your products/services?
  • What are the best uses for your products?
  • Are there any common misconceptions about your products?
  • What industries are the best fit for your products?
  • Are there unique promotions your products have been a part of?
  • Who is the best demographic for your products?
  • Is there any extra information that is typically time consuming to present?

Asking these questions or any others that apply to your products and company will help you understand what videos you should create to assist your sales team. It’s extremely common for marketing and sales teams to run on different schedules and strategies, but take a look at this stat: Companies with aligned marketing and sales teams are 67% more efficient at closing deals. If you want to drive more sales, start with a conversation between departments.

Now that you’ve had conversations with your colleagues, the next step is deciding what type of video you should make. Whether it’s a product video, product demo, service rundown or about us/company video, make sure it aligns with the goals of your sales team. These videos might be longer in length, but don’t worry. There are plenty of ways to repurpose video content. Here are a few examples and descriptions of videos that will help you drive sales:
  • Product Video/Product Demo: Product videos give a 360-degree view of your product and showcase all its tangible aspects. They build trust as distributors can see the ins and outs of your product, its uses and the benefits it offers. You could upgrade your product video into a full product demo, showcasing all its uses, inspiring distributors and more. 
  • FAQ: These videos are a great tool for your sales team to have on hand to send to clients from the start of their conversations. They immediately answer all questions and allow your prospects to fully understand your business as they’re building their relationship with you.
  • Company/About Us: These videos dive deeper into your brand and what makes you unique compared to other suppliers. They tell distributors why they should choose you over your competitors and create an emotional connection that leaves a lasting impression. A company/about us video can also be used to give a behind-the-scenes look at your company, whether it’s an office/production tour or whatever works for your business.

There are so many more videos to create beyond the few I just mentioned. Every business is different and has different goals to achieve.
